— Engagement and Promotion

— Engagement and Promotion

YouTube metrics including views, likes, comments, and shares are factored into the evaluation process. Participants are encouraged to promote their submissions widely and share across all social media channels. View count will play a role in the evaluation but it won’t give significant advantage to the audience size of the participant. We want anyone with a vision to be able to win this competition, regardless of current social following.

(Note: Every view of a submission spreads, demonstrates audience resonance with the concept, and promotes competition sponsors who made this prize possible. Viral submissions benefit both the creator and the broader ambition for hopeful storytelling.)

— Treatment Requirement for Finalists

— Treatment Requirement for Finalists

If selected as one of the Top 10 Finalists, participants will be asked and required to develop a first draft script based on their Treatment. The script deadline is September 10, 2026.

— Rights and Exclusivity

— Rights and Exclusivity

By submitting, participants grant Range exclusive rights to their submission from the moment of submission until the winner announcement on September 25, 2026.

This exclusivity means Range has first right to develop selected projects, participants cannot shop concepts to other studios or producers during this period, and Range maintains rights protection if submissions gain viral attention during the competition. Participants also agree and acknowledge upon entering that if selected as a Top 10 Finalist, and their project is adapted to feature, Google will serve as a producing partner on the project. Google will be entitled to an on-screen production company credit for Google and up to three individual 'Executive Producer' credits for individuals designated by Google - with specific terms to be negotiated in good faith at the time of the feature production. Google will serve as a producing partner in an industry-standard capacity and will use reasonable efforts to provide relevant tools and technical resources to the production at no cost (provided that such tools and resources remain subject to availability and Google’s discretion).

Participants retain ownership of their original work. Participants warrant that submissions are 100% original content and that they have rights to all music, footage, and creative elements used. Stock assets must be properly licensed.

— Evaluation Criteria

— Evaluation Criteria

Initial screening evaluates four primary dimensions:

1. Concept quality and execution: Is the story compelling and well-realized within production constraints?

2. Scale and ambition: Does the vision think big enough about humanity's future?

3. Mission alignment: Does the submission genuinely portray a compelling and technology-enabled future where everyone can thrive?

4. Technology-forward storytelling: Is advanced technology meaningfully integrated into the narrative?

— Judging Philosophy

The Future Vision XPRIZE judging process is designed to ensure every submission receives genuine human attention while identifying the most compelling visions of an optimistic future, and the film concept which is most likely to be producible and have the greatest beneficial impact on humanity.
